Arabic 101 Group Class This introduction to Arabic class will begin on Friday, June 25, 2010 and end on Friday, August 27, 2010. The classes are 90 minutes long, and are held each Friday from 6:00—7:30pm. The text used is the following, and is available from Amazon.com: Al-Kitaab: A Textbook for Beginning Arabic: Part One, 2nd Ed. & three audio/ visual DVDs by Brustad, Al-Batal, and Al-Tonsi The cost for the course is $195.00. The course will include 15 hours of instruction time, and will cover the following: · An introduction to the Arabic language. · The letters of the Arabic alphabet, the vowels, and diacritical markings. · The definite article. · Subject pronouns. · An introduction to the possessive pronouns. · An introduction to the present tense. · Meeting and greeting people vocabulary and conversation practice. |

Private Instruction Private classes are available for those students who want a more tailored instruction suited to their specific leaning needs. Each class is 1 1/2 hours long with flexible scheduling. The classes are reasonable at the following prices: · $35.00 per hour for one student · $25.00 per hour per student for two students · $20.00 per hour per student for three students or more |

Instructor Khalid Ahmed is the instructor of our Arabic program. Hailing from Yemen, he has over 12 years experience in teaching Arabic as a foreign language. He has a BA degree in teaching foreign languages with a concentration in English from Sana’a University. He has taught at the Yemen Language Center in Sana’a, the Seattle Language Academy, as well as our program here at the Islamic School. He has taught students from many different backgrounds, cultures, and of differing language abilities; and is adept at focusing on what each student as an individual needs to help them learn best. |
